But we've also been using the first 100 days to try to set the terms of the debate over the next few years, reach new MPs and campaigns, and get as much as possible done:

• We, with Kate Pickett and Richard Wilkinson, released an updated and expanded version of the Spirit Level, adding 15 years of new research on inequality's impact on our lives, communities, and planet. Thanks especially to Kate and Richard, we've been handing out hundreds of copies of this research to MPs, policy-makers, and academics.
• Working with the Youth Advocates we recruited and trained, we co-produced a series of films talking about young peoples' hopes, fears and beliefs in their own words, and are now working together on ways to help policy-makers listen to and act on young peoples' demands – starting with a discussion guide and recommendations produced by the Youth Advocates.
• Along with BLAM, we researched and wrote a report on the ways our mental health system is failing Black and racialised people, and began imagining how an anti-racist system would work.
• We've rallied outside political conferences, investment summits, and banks with groups like Green New Deal Rising, Greenpeace, and trade unions to demand action on profiteering and the super-rich. I've been rained on every time I've done this.
• We've coordinated campaign groups to lobby for equal pay and begun working towards a just implementation of the socio-economic duty.
• We've written to every new MP and met with parliamentarians, ministers, civil servants, and civil society groups to argue for for more participative approaches to making policy and holding power to account.
• Much of the above is thanks to the nearly 4000 of you signing petitions and writing to your MPs demanding action on inequality, connecting those politicians to our movement and the crisis we're in – some of who have gone on to join our new APPG on poverty and inequality or sign the early day motion.

It can feel impossible trying to shift our broken system towards a more equal future. But we know change is both possible and desirable. And thanks to you, we're co-producing new research and tools, winning arguments, and building coalitions.

How can we encourage more equality of power? You said:

• "Use what ways you have to educate people about the power of Community Assemblies - perhaps newspaper ads paid for by Patriotic Millionaires. Lobby for teaching school children about them, lobby to have Community Councils use them."
  
• "Encourage democracy in our workplaces (ie worker co-ops)."
  
• "Increased devolution and subsidiarity plus limited access to the levers of power in terms of time: we need to ensure that access to power is finite and shared between as many people and communities as possible. The problems come when power is concentrated in too few hands and is perpetuated in those hands."
  
  

• "We all have our parts to play. Some are expert in areas of life in which others have little or no knowledge. Knowledge must be shared. At university, I had to unlearn much of what I had been taught on my subject at school. In work, I learned even more about my subject from those with greater knowledge than me. Life is a journey of learning. Don't stop the journey. Don't get off the learning transport."
  
  

• "Recent headlines around investment in fossil-fuel friendly carbon capture technology and the continuing inequity of welfare/tax changes such as the two child benefit cap/lack of wealth tax, clearly show that lobbying is welcomed and expert knowledge is not being sought within the corridors of power. This suggests a complete lack of understanding about other ways of decision-making. Better education, beyond politics, for those taking up posts in Westminster may be a start?"
